Webfargo's IDS solution was developed exclusively to meet the challenges of security-conscious businesses. Further, a steep learning curve follows the installation of any IDS, as the IT staff learns to interpret the alerts as they relate to their network, and sort through and tune out false positives. Our clients have constant access to their IDS systems and alert information via the VantagePoint console. Webfargo's security engineers back up our clients' IT staff by analyzing alerts generated by the IDS, and providing our clients with timely, actionable information. Webfargo's engineers keep the sensor's OS current and hardened, and tune the signatures as needed.

• Architecture Review
  Webfargo engineers work with our clients to determine the goals for implementing Intrusion Detection, and recommend where best to put a sensor or sensors to accomplish these objectives.
  
  
• Installation and Tuning of Operating System
  Webfargo engineers have developed a custom process to effectively tune the IDS system for maximum reliability and security.
  
  
• Installation of Snort and Management Console
  In addition to the installation of IDS software, our innovative web-based management console is installed and tuned, along with a default ruleset recommended for your organization.
  
  
• Initial Tuning of Rule set
  Over a period of two to four weeks, Webfargo's team reviews alerts and tunes the rule set to be most effective in the client's environment, while eliminating false positives.
  
  
• Reporting
  A report is created on a predetermined basis outlining the activity on the client's IDS sensor and highlighting any suspicious activity.
  
  
• Monitoring of Sensor
  Webfargo monitors the application and the server itself to ensure that the hardware is running and the applications are responding correctly.
  
  
• Attack Signature Updates
  As new vulnerabilities and attacks are discovered, Webfargo updates the IDS sensor with the appropriate attack signatures.
  
  
• System Maintenance
  Regular system maintenance tasks are performed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the IDS sensor.
  
  
• VantagePoint IDS console
